Bayhealth Advances to Magnet® Site Visit for Third Designation

Thursday, March 13, 2025 | Awards & Recognitions

Bayhealth proudly announces that its written Magnet® documentation has been accepted by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), marking a significant step toward achieving its third Magnet designation for nursing excellence. The Magnet Program Office has scheduled Bayhealth’s site visit for April 29 – May 1, 2025, during which a team of three Magnet appraisers will visit patient care areas across Bayhealth to “validate, verify and amplify” the system’s commitment to exceptional nursing practice.

First earning Magnet status in 2015 and redesignated in 2020, Bayhealth joins an elite group—approximately 9% of U.S. hospitals—recognized by the ANCC for excellence in nursing. This prestigious honor reflects better patient outcomes, higher patient satisfaction, a positive practice environment and lower nurse turnover, as demonstrated by Magnet research.

“Our team’s dedication to our patients, community and profession shines through in this milestone,” said Rosi Wurster, Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive. “The site visit is our chance to showcase the outstanding care and commitment that define Bayhealth nursing.”
