Weather-Related Closures and Changes at Bayhealth

For the safety of our patients and team members, Bayhealth announces delayed openings for our Sussex County and Sussex Campus locations for Tuesday, Feb. 24. While our Kent County and Kent Campus locations will open on time. All surgical procedures, no matter the location, will be performed as scheduled with no delays expected.

UPDATES TO OPERATIONS FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 24

  • Bayhealth Medical Group practices in Kent County will open on time. Bayhealth Medical Group practices in Sussex County (including Milford and Harrington) will open at 10 a.m.
  • Bayhealth Outpatient Services in Kent County will open on time, while Outpatient Services in Sussex County (including Milford and Harrington) will open at 10 a.m.
  • All Outpatient Services provided at Bayhealth Kent Campus will open on time. All Outpatient Services provided at Bayhealth Sussex Campus including Imaging, Lab, Oncology, Outpatient Therapies (including Cardiac, Pulmonary & Vascular Rehabilitation), Wound Care, Medical Infusion and Maternal Fetal Medicine will open at 10 a.m.
  • Bayhealth Occupational Health, Blue Hen will open on time. Bayhealth Occupational Health, Milford will open at 10 a.m.
  • Bayhealth Walk-In, Blue Hen will open on time and Bayhealth Walk-In, Milford will open at 10 a.m.
  • The Bayhealth Childcare Center will remain open and is fully operational.

All elective surgeries will be performed as scheduled at both our Kent and Sussex campuses and the Surgery Center in Dover. Inpatient surgeries will also be performed as planned. If patients have questions, they should contact their surgeon’s office.

Team members across Bayhealth are notifying patients of these delays and may offer alternatives to in-person appointments such as telehealth and rescheduling appointments.

Our hospitals and emergency departments are open to care for patients. This includes our Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus; Bayhealth Hospital, Sussex Campus; Bayhealth Emergency and Urgent Care Center, Total Care; and Bayhealth Smyrna Emergency Department.

Bayhealth also offers a virtual urgent care option called Bayhealth@Home. The mobile app may be used from any location. Direct patients to visit Bayhealth.org/VUC to learn more.
