Ray Bologna, MD

Ray Bologna, MD, MBA, is a urologist and urogynecologist who specializes in female pelvic medicine and pelvic reconstructive surgery. This is a branch of medicine that treats conditions of the pelvic floor, including bladder and bowel control problems, pelvic floor prolapse, and other types of dysfunction.

In elementary school, Dr. Bologna watched his father battle colon cancer and was in awe of the exceptional care he received. This, along with the influence of two family friends who were physicians and mentors, inspired him to pursue medicine. With more than twenty years of career experience at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, he's a leading specialist in the field of pelvic medicine.

Dr. Bologna considers it an honor to provide specialized care, and always puts his patients first. Fellowship-trained in female urology, voiding dysfunction, female pelvic medicine and reconstructive pelvic surgery, he sees mostly female patients. He commonly treats bladder control problems such as urinary urgency, urge incontinence, stress incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse which refers to loss of support to the uterus, bladder and bowel. He is proud to help women take back control over the issues that have caused them pain and difficulty and restore their quality of life as they get back to activities they enjoy.

Dr. Bologna takes time to educate each patient on all their treatment options, including more conservative measures and surgical solutions. He uses advanced therapies such as Botox injections and neuromodulation for urinary urgency and urge incontinence, as well as robotic surgery for prolapse.

Outside of work, Dr. Bologna enjoys spending time with his family at the Delaware beaches, which he fell in love with many years ago when vacationing here. He considers himself a Peloton addict and music geek, who formerly was in marching bands and still plays the piano. He also enjoys hiking and coffee shops and staying active in community charities.
