Bayhealth is proud to offer expanded specialty care as it opens the Bayhealth Infectious Disease, Blue Hen practice with an experienced team including Ramesh Vemulapalli, MD; Maryam Munir, MD; and Beverly Jill Maser, DNP, FNP-C. This practice is part of Bayhealth Medical Group, a partnership of highly trained physicians and advanced practice clinicians and teams that operates medical offices throughout Delaware.

Dr. Vemulapalli, Dr. Munir and Nurse Practitioner Maser each provide specialized care for a range of common and complex infectious diseases. They are all welcoming new patients at the Bayhealth Infectious Disease, Blue Hen practice in Dover.

Infectious disease specialists diagnose and treat infections that are difficult to identify, severe, recurring or not improving with standard treatment. They work closely with primary care clinicians and other specialists to manage bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections, including conditions such as Lyme disease, bone and joint infections, bloodstream infections, complicated skin and wound infections, hepatitis, HIV and infections requiring intravenous (IV) antibiotics.

Many infections can be successfully treated by a primary care clinician, but some require specialized expertise," said Dr. Vemulapalli. "Our goal is to help patients receive the right diagnosis and treatment as quickly as possible while working closely with their primary care physicians and other specialists."

Dr. Vemulapalli brings 25 years of private practice and consulting experience as an infectious disease specialist. He was fellowship-trained in infectious disease at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.

After her medical schooling and internal medicine residency, Dr. Munir completed an infectious disease fellowship at SUNY Stony Brook University Hospital, Renaissance School of Medicine in Stony Brook, New York.

Maser completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree after earning a master’s in community health and wellness and three post-master's certifications as a nurse educator, legal nurse consultant and family nurse practitioner.

The three clinicians see patients at Bayhealth Infectious Disease, Blue Hen located at 665 Bay Rd., Unit B, Dover, DE 19901. Also part of Bayhealth’s infectious disease care team are Rafael Ruiz Gaviria, MD, who sees patients for infectious disease at Bayhealth Primary Care, Total Care – Milton, and Dawn Roach, MD, who provides infectious disease care and primary care to patients at Bayhealth Primary Care, Harrington.
