A Letter from the Program Director, Terrence Tsui, DO
Welcome to the Bayhealth Sports Medicine Fellowship program. It is a 1-year ACGME-accredited program sponsored by Bayhealth Medical Center. We received accreditation in 2025 and offer one position yearly to graduates of accredited programs in family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, med-peds, and emergency medicine. The mission of the program is to train a leader well-versed in all aspects of sports medicine.
The fellowship is based in Dover, Delaware. Dover is the capitol of Delaware and is located centrally in the state. Our fellow will learn how to be a team physician first hand through our direct relationships with the athletics programs with Delaware State University (DSU) and Milford high school. DSU is a premier HBCU and DSU athletics offers 19 NCAA Division I sports. We also participate in the medical coverage of mass events such as local running events and Special Olympics Delaware.
The fellow will spend most of their time in clinic learning through direct patient encounters. The schedule is flexible so they can spend time with different specialists outside of their elective time. I expect the fellow to be well-trained in musculoskeletal ultrasound because of the high volume of diagnostic and interventional ultrasound procedures we see in clinic.
In addition to patient care, the fellow will have educational experiences including weekly didactics, 1-on-1 ultrasound training sessions, monthly journal club, and scholarly activity. Musculoskeletal imaging is integrated into our curriculum and the fellow will be interacting frequently with our MSK radiologist on a weekly basis. Fellows will be attending conferences for AMSSM and potentially presenting interested cases they see in clinic.
